Unlike most turquoise, Sonoran Gold is not mined in veins but rather as individual nuggets typically found in clay deposits.

Sonoran and Sierra Bella being neighboring mines they resemble each other in color from dark greens. Blue/green mix or a light green and can have pyrite.
